Over The Rainbow Deluxe quilted 4-in-1 Nursing Pillow

I didn't invest a lot of money on breastfeeding before my son was born because I wasn't sure if it would be for me. Once I got established with it I realised that a breastfeeding pillow, something I'd dismissed as a bit of a gimmick before (why not just use a regular pillow or cushion?!) became a much wanted item. This one fell into my lap, so to speak and it couldn't be more perfect.

It's slightly larger than some of the other breastfeeding pillows I've seen so even with the carry bag that comes with it, it's not especially portable, but for use around the house, it's become an essential. The small positioning pillow is very helpful for getting my son's head into the best position for feeding. It's also allowed my to breastfeed 'hands free' so I can concentrate on knitting or using both hands to eat dinner.

This pillow isn't just intended for breastfeeding either, it can be used as a support for the baby when they are ready to start sitting up and includes a built in harness for this purpose. I've also used it for my son's tummy time as well. It's a little high for this but he seems to have fun pushing himself over the top of it.

In the future, if I was to make a recommendation for an essential item for mums intending to breastfeed, it would be for one of these!
