We bought this 3years ago, and still good as new. My little girl loves it. 15minutes music and 5minutes star projecting. Very cute and it's not too loud. Pretty simple.

We bought this for our 7 month old as our 3 year old has had a similar one since birth and still loves it. The lights are lovely and just enough to see what you're doing when checking baby in the night and the multitude of sounds and songs are fab. It was a little fiddly getting used to operating it but once we'd figured out what button did what we were good to go. Definitely dies the job and seems to sooth baby during the night but my only negative is not having a timer option to choose how long it goes on for, it's a standard time of 20 mins I think, but sometimes it would be nice to have it play a little longer. I also probably wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't on offer as I feel the full price is a little high for what it is. Otherwise its lovely and I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a night light. The stars are lovely projected on the ceiling and walls.

We fall asleep with the music every night, only the lamp is bit annoying because is switching off so quicker. The best part is when my Little one is playing I don’t worry ,because is soft and he can not be hurt.

I got this in pink for my little girl (5 months) at Christmas she loves it. It is really soothing especially the white noise. I think it would be better if the stars moved other than that it’s a great wee toy.

I do like this product, however I do find it doesn't help getting my daughter to sleep. It is lovely to listen to, especially the nature sounds and it's nice seeing the stars on the ceiling. There has been a few occasions where my daughter had watched it but she enjoys looking around more.
The product is very pretty to look at but my husband didn't know if it was a hippo or a tortoise.

Since buying this my little boy has loved lying in his cot listening to the music and watching the stars. I would say it has definitely helped him get to sleep on an evening but the only down fall is the star projection doesn’t last very long and I find myself having to keep pressing the button a few times before he has gone off to sleep, Otherwise a great little product.

We got this is a gift for our little girls and it is lovely. In a dark room it projects lovely patterns. The nature sounds are very relaxing and soothing and help to soothe my baby to sleep. Also plays lullabies which are again relaxing. The only downfall is that the speaker is on the bottom and can be quite quiet and sometimes (depending on how tired Baby is) I have had to turn this updated down so we can hear it. It only plays for a short time and battery life is pretty quick.

We were given this as a gift, and the music is great, various tunes are played for 30 minutes, which is usually long enough for baby to fall asleep. The only downside is that the projector lights don't seem to work unless the hippo is near to the ceiling, in a fully dark room. For this reason we have never actually used this feature, only the music. It's also a great toy for when baby is awake, our daughter loves to hit the plastic and use it as a drum!

My review is from when we received the item as a gift & I wrote a review for the website I bought it from.
On opening the Fisher Price cuddle projection hippo soother, my first impression was the bright turquoise colour which fortunately is not gender specific and looks fab in the nursery.

On closer inspection the hippo is of a good size with a plush head and feet. The majority of it is made of plastic so I personally wouldn't advise putting it in a baby's cot. The plush material is deceiving in that it's made soft and cuddly in appearance, but belies the fact that the main of its body is made of a very hard plastic.

The main purpose of this soother is to project stars on the ceiling of the nursery in order to relax baby and encourage sleep.

Another feature is the choice of three sounds- lullabies, white noise and the soothing rainforest. Any of these can be played along with or without the projecting stars. Iestyn loves the rainforest noises and smiles every time he hears the croaking frog.

The soother is run by batteries and is very simple to use by pressing one of three buttons. Each button relates to a different function-light projection, sounds and lullabies. However now Iestyn is a one year old he sees the hippo more as a toy rather than a sleeping aid. Iestyn has an interactive toy drum which resembles the plastic section of the hippo. He keeps expecting it to respond to his touch with flashing colours and drum noises!

I found it tricky to position in a suitable spot in his bedroom in which to achieve the maximum display of stars on his ceiling. I believe the product would be better if the stars rotated in a circle rather than being static. Also, the stars don't stay on for very long, a few minutes at the most. Surely a bit longer period would have been better.

If purchased for a new baby's gift I am of the opinion that the volume of the music and sounds is too loud and startling for a young baby.

Iestyn found the hippo to be a comfort when staying with either of his Grandma's and I take it every time, he likes a routine.

For someone wishing to buy a baby's present for around £20, I still believe this would make a very welcome purchase.

We use this every night to settle our baby and have done since birth. We use the white noise setting but there is also a gentle music setting. We like the light function as it projects stars on the ceiling but find it goes off too quickly. The music and white noise lasts for long enough. The product is a sweet, soft blue hippo and fits well in a nursery.

I love the tunes. Even I fall asleep with the nature selection. Speaker is underneath though so I turn him upside down when we aren’t using the light. Light doesn’t stay on very long. And is quite bright so the stars are not overly clear on the ceiling.
    Do like it though.

Love this little hippo. The tunes my little one loves to listen too when he is in his cot. However I was a little let down I assumed that the hippo light would shine a little more so that could go on ceiling. Nevertheless it’s still a fab little hippo.

This product was bought for us as a gift for Christmas and it has been amazing! My son (now 6 months) has loved it since we put it in his crib and it’s helped settle him!
He’s been such a bad sleeper but this has been a lifesaver. I’ve been able to incorporate it into his bedtime routine and it the music really helps him drop off to sleep. Also, when he wakes in the night. It’s really helped him to be able to settle back to sleep on his own (with the help of the music of course) so there’s is no need to cuddle him and stay with him for hours anymore.
In comparison with other similar products, it’s so cheap and has all the features you need.
The one negative is that the middle part is quite hard with no soft protection ( just plastic) so it’s not very cuddle friendly! Saying that, my son has had no problem cuddling t anyway! Haha
Overall fantastic and have already recommended it to other Mum friends.

This is a great toy to own. Not only does it give you 3 settings to soothe your baby from projective lighting, soothing songs and outdoor sounds it's also bright and colourful to keep your baby alert through the day. I highly recommend this product as it can be used to calm your baby and also alert them. It's hard wearing and the battery life lasts a long time. I wouldn't be without it and it's suitable from newborn in my opinion!
