I love the design of the duck it is very cute and bright yellow, it has a indicator to say if the water is too hot even though i just use my finger to tell if it is hot or not. My child just loves playing with the toy and splashes it in the water, it is a really fun bath time toy. - Strengths:

As a toy it is great, my five month old enjoys bathing with it and is just the right size for picking up but if bought for safety reasons the “HOT” shows almost as soon as it is put in water. If you relied on the sign if would be far too cold for a baby to sit in. - Strengths:

This is a cute little duck for your babies first bath toy. But I wouldn’t trust the heat sensor. Mine has always shown hot, even when it’s not in the water.

We use this product as a toy for our son as we found the temp gauge a bit basic. As it just says hot if the bath is too hot. We didn’t find it very helpful so ended up getting a digital monitor that tells you the exact temp of the bath and if it’s too hot - Strengths:

This item is ok but I feel it's pointless.
Your skin can tell you if it is too hot or not but my little boy does love using it as a toy.
So it has one good purpose.
The hot pad underneath does work and a great idea but I do feel your skin works just as well -

Such a good idea if it worked properly. The underneath of the dark ways seem to say that the water is too hot even when it's not. But to be fair its fun for your baby to have in the bath and doesn't let water into it so it's safe too. - Strengths:

When I received this as a gift I thought it was a great idea, however upon first use it was clear the product doesn’t work properly. It constantly says the water is too hot even when it is warm or cold. We know just use it as a general toy. As with other similar rubber bath animal toys, water can get stuck inside which means there is a risk of mould building up inside which you may not necessarily see. - Strengths:

Great as a toy but for temperature its poor as it says its hot when the water is just warm. If i put my babies in the luke warm water i would had two upset kids. However i have had this product from my first born who is now 5. - Strengths:

I bought this as wanted a cheap bath thermometer and managed to get it even cheaper in sainsburys baby event. It is a bright rubber duck which makes a great bath toy (it also doesn’t have an air hole so no horrid mound) and quickly tells you if the bath is too hot as the lettering goes bright white. My children like the bath temperature when the lets are pale white but it took a while to work this out. It also handy in the shower as it quickly tells you if the water is to hot before putting small people under the spray. Yes it doesn’t give an accurate temperature like some other bath thermometers but if you are after a cheap one this does a great job. - Strengths:

Nice, bright rubber duck but the temperature indicator is way to sensitive. Just says hot even when it’s not even like warm. Resorted back to the trusty elbow rather quickly! - Strengths:

As easy as this product is to use, as colourful as it may be and it gets your child enjoying bath time that bit more, the only thing that disappointed me is it just says hot. Is it hot enough? Too hot? It just become a regular bath toy in the end - Strengths:

My daughter loves to play with this in the bath. It her favourite bath toy. The down side is the hot thermometer doesn’t work. It shows the same when run under a hot tap as it does when run under a cold tap. - Strengths:

Fun product but we didn't really get on too well with it. Kept reading hot even at 35 degrees.. when I usually bath the kids in at least 36-37 degrees (body temp) so it made for a great bath duck to play with (one without a hole in so at least it doesn't get mouldy inside)

I have a couple of these due to doubled gifts etc which is perfectly fine as my daughter lives to play eith them in the bath. However on all the ducks it always says HOT and doesn't change whether in hot or cold water. Please do not use as an indication of bath temperature. I think it is unsafe for purpose. My daughter liked playing with this duck but unfortunately, it didn't work how it was supposed to. It's supposed to say 'HOT' if the bath water was too hot but it always says hot! Description
The Nuby Heat Safe Bath Duck is a bath toy with the added ability of reading the temperature of the water.
Place the duck in the bathwater and leave for one minute prior to lifting to check its underside.
The white HOT indicator means you should allow the bath to cool back into the blue zone before letting your child enter.
