I was given one of these toys for my son months ago. It did used to scare him when we would pop one of the animals up as it makes a loud noise, but my son is one of those that likes being scared so although it'd make him jump he would giggle after. He's only just turned 9 months so he's just about figuring out that if he presses or moves buttons this way the things will pop open. It doesn't scare him anymore as he's so used to us playing with it. I don't know what the age guideline it is for this toy but I'm assuming it's for over 12 months plus. We are always watching him when he plays and as long as there isn't any detachable small parts he can choke on we give him the toys to play with which is partly why I think at 9 months he knows shapes and which buttons to press. He also knows how to close the pop up animal now when he presses the buttons. This toy doesn't may any sounds or lights up it's just a basic plastic toy for kids to play with and to learn shapes, colours and coordination. It's definitely improved my sons motor skills.

This is a great classic toy. Our little girl chuckles her little head iff to this toy weather we are oressing the buttons or she is. Every time she jumps like its a surprise. Its very well made and lovely a colourful. Its also very easy to clean if you need to which lets be honest mist babies are sick and dribbly on there toys! We love the fact she can play this on her own, with other children or with mummy and daddy.

My grandaughter played with this in her play group so I bought one and she still loves playing with it.it has improved her fine motor skills and she enjoys making each one pop up. Cost not to bad I thought but well worth it if your child enjoys this sort of toy. it will last through until toddler years.

My little boy loved this toy and so did I its a great childhood favourite toy. Teachers colours, shapes. The buttons are nice and chunky so was easy for my toddler to play it on his own.
