It is written in many maternity waiting areas not to buy these as they cause more panic than comfort. My friend lent me one and I was hesitant. I still have never got it to work, but I am confident baby is fine as she wriggles/kicks constantly, if I was ever worried I would not use this to reassure me. I wanted to use it to show family but have never got a clear result.

You can hear your baby but it's not very clear. You have to sit extremely still because any movement you make can be heard through the headphones

I bought this fairly late on in my pregnancy for reassurance, I gave me exactly that so I can’t complain as it was really affordable. It took a bit of patience to get a good spot and hear the heatbeat clear as the quality wasn’t great. But once you had a good spot and if you don’t fidget and move around it is wonderful to be able to hear your little ones heartbeat at home any time.
I have had use out of this as has other family members so I would say it’s definitely been put to good use.

    • Strengths:

You can listen heartbeats but very quiet, like a fara away sound.

    • Weaknesses:

The sound is not clear. And the accuracy of the monitor is very low

I would not recommend to buy this product, as you dont really listen well the heartbeats. Even when the baby is moving (and you are relax about the baby is fine) this monitor don't detect the sound of the heart.

I used this for both my children and I could not get on with it. I would not purchase again if wanted to hear 3rd child. I was not sure if had I had heart beat or not it was too much faffing about.

      It’s compact

    • Weaknesses:

      Battery life /naff product

For my first child I had one of these - it was probably one of the biggest wastes of money ever, you strap it around your belly and plug in the headphones, in no way is it accurate as you can only really hear your heard beat.

It broke after a handful of uses.

If you really need reassurance that baby is ok invest in a decent Doppler
