I actually brought one of these from a charity shop, gave it a good clean and gave it to my son but he played with it a few times but isn't really interested in it. For what it does I really wouldn't pay retail on it. Helps with fine motor skills as there are little curved holes where a child can try balancing the little balls inside. It rattles and also spins so not a very interesting toy really.
The 'Rainbow Spinner' from Clementoni is a traditional toy that has been redesigned to introduce baby into the world of cause and effect. Just press the handle down to make the top spin, creating a swirling blend of colours and watch as the butterflies and ladybirds spin around the central mirror.
