I love elf on the shelf, he’s brought magic back to our home when my older kids started doubting. He is fun for us grown ups too!! Only down side is he is quite hard to position without using cello tape!

I really love our elf. We used him with our daughter and we did all the hiding him in various locations and doing various things. This year as it was our sons first Christmas he took a more simple role as a regular Christmas ornament (this is more
For safety as my son is into everything!) but my son loved pointing him out and looking at him. I think it’s a lovey Christmas tradition and will be great to pass on to or children as they get older.
You can make these as complicated as you wish some people
Love getting the elves into different situations but I think even just putting one out each year is lovely.

My children adore their elf, they get so excited to clamber downstairs every morning to see what their elf has been up to overnight. I love to see their excited faces and hear the enjoyment in their voices when they scramble to tell me the story. I'd definitely recommend this little 'intruder' - it makes the house and Christmas especially, that much more magical ?

This little fella is the perfect house intruder to make the Christmas spirit more magical. The book is an awesome read and the kids take the elf everywhere they go. Just wish that fabric was better quality, Iv had to sow his foot back on but that could be due to my kids not letting him miss out on an adventure. Definitely worth the buy and money.

This is a tradition that will carry on for generations!

    HOW IT WORKS:
The kit comes with an elf doll and a book. The book explains that Santa has sent an elf to watch over the children and the elf reports back to Santa each night. The kids get to decide the name for the elf together - this is a touch decision! You read through the book with your child, it explains all the rules, then each night you move the elf to a new spot. One of the rules is that the children cannot touch him - this is a great rule because although he's a sturdy doll, I think he might get loved out much too quickly if they were allowed! The author was so thoughtful to think of all these helpful rules.

    Rules:
    * The children cannot touch the elf or he will lose his magic
    * The elf can listen to what the children tell him, but cannot talk back, that's Santa's law.
    * The elf flies back to the North Pole each night and tells Santa what he has seen - when he comes back he goes to a new spot in the house.

The kids start searching for the elf immediately when they wake up! Knowing Santa is watching has definitely motivated them to be a behave a bit better! This cute little tradition makes the Christmas season more fun. It's a very special tradition in our house. I love that the book has an old fashioned feel to it, the illustrations are wonderful.

    CONS:
    * Your children will ask you every night from Halloween to Thankgiving when the elf is coming back!
    * You have to remember to move the elf every night! Sometimes this is a bit of a challenge for us. :) However, our elf does sometimes just get comfy in the spot he's in, so he must have decided to come back to the same spot.

Absolutely fab kids love waking up to find the cheeky elf! Sometimes it was very late when I remembered to move it as I forgot about it. Brilliant idea if you don’t want to get advent calendars you can say one day one child finds it and then say next day the other child finds it! Really good for kids as the elf is watching for Santa to check the kids are being good and behaving to get their presents from their list!

bought this from mother care last year only to find my sister had purchased similar elf for 3.99 from a local shop so feel my product was overpriced which really annoyed me because that's almost 15 pound I could have used to buy another present for my daughter to put under the tree
