Originally when looking for formula milk for my son we decided on cow & gate as its affordable and you can buy both the powder or pre made bottles virtually anywhere.
As formula milk is so closely regulated, with strict minimum nutritional factors we weren't concerned with it being a lower quality than other more expensive products.
My son took to the stage 1 milk right from the get go and has been growing so well. When he turned 7 months I decided to move him onto this milk, only purely because it can go on promotional offers.
I have seen no change to him at all since moving from stage 1 to 2. It's a great milk and I'm glad my little boy has been on this particular one.
The pots are easy to stack and store (as a like to keep a good stock in the cupboard). Its also made easy to measure out with the built in scoop leveler notch built into the pot.

I used this milk from 6 months as a follow on to c&g stage 1.

You can buy this milk on offer where as you cannot get stage 1 on offer due to laws . I would have stayed on stage 1 until 12 months if the laws did not apply as Stage 1 milk is the best for a baby up until 12 months .

It feeds my baby and keeps him growing, just as other expensive brands do . All the brands are nutritionally equivalent to the legal level they need to be - any slight increases are marketing based and different levels of certain ingredients may affect babies . Unfortunately I couldn’t breastfeed and I have to trust all companies are equally doing the best for my baby to try to offer an alternative to breast milk .

My son went down onto this milk as a top up while he was breastfeeding, as my mom used cow and gate so that is what I have predominantly used. I only have one small niggle with it which is the fact that the top is plastic the bottom is cardboard so I literally have to hack the top off to separate it from a cardboard as I am very particular when it comes to recycling

Cow and gate milk is the only milk that my daughter would take to, and didn’t upset her tummy. We moved on to the follow on milk at 6 months. It has all the nutrients she needs and isn’t full of sugar like some follow on milk. Nice and easy to prepare, not too frothy when shaken and no lumps or funny smells. All round good quality milk.

My little one went from breastfeeding straight to follow on milk. We have tried a few ready to drink milks but nothing stuck, so we got this as it was cheapest. She gulped it down and we never looked back.
It mixes well, I just don't like how time consuming preparation is if done as per instructions.
The box has a clip for the spoon, so no need to fish it out of the powder, which is great.

Our girls were on the first infant formula and we changed them over to this once weaning (even though not entirely necessary) as we wanted to make sure they continued getting all they needed. Absolutely no problem with the switch: we simply did it once we ran out of the other one! Some people complain that it's now an 800g tub instead of 900g but that's reflected in the price - still £1 per 100g. I only wish there we're offers on this milk, although at least with this one you can get loyalty card points for shops!

This follow on milk is great for babies over 6 months. It's easy to make and is a great consistency.

Due to it being a follow on formula you can often find it on offer.

    The packaging has recently changed.

We recently tried this milk. I'm breastfeeding my 6 months old son, but i wanted use thus milk for making baby rice and it was great. My son didn't even feel the difference when I made his rice with this milk instead of mine. Good product !

Due to cost I tried to switch from aptamil to cow and Gate and the baby was really not impressed, refused to eat it unless he was really hungry, had to go and by aptamil after second day. Although the baby didn't take to it, it may be just because he's used to aptamil as I've been giving him aptamil from newborn when i wasn't producing enough breastmilk. As I had a whole box of formula left I use it in his baby rice mixes rather than throwing it away and he eats it really well in this way.

I transferred my daughter to this from the first milk she transitioned on to it really well no problems she didn’t get belly ache And did really well with it fills her up and she enjoys her milk!!
The only problem which is hard to disperse is the milk powder gets stuck to the spoon because of the steam in the bottles.

I changed to Cow & Gate (hungry baby) when my baby was two days old, milk monster would be an understatement. My little boy has just this month turned one, just before I changed to the next stage I noticed in the booklet (there’s not one in every new tub) contains a £1 coupon, granted I probably would of realised sooner if I hadn’t thrown them away and read them but single mummy life doesn’t give time for that plus myself and probably a good amount of other mummies would assume it’s just more tips and tricks that we really don’t care for. The fact there is absolutely no indication or suggestion of the coupon Is very annoying, especially when spending so much money on the product.

My eldest was topped up from 6 months with one bottle of This a day as well as breast feeding. He took to it very well and seemed to enjoy it. He didn’t have any stomach issues with it (as I know some formula can cause problems) great top up for a hungry baby, easy to prepare. Have him all the extra things he may need

We have just moved up to this stage 2 milk as my baby turned 6 months now. She loves it and it seems to go down very well. I have used cow and gate with both my 2 babies and never had any problems and both are healthy and happy baby and toddler. Would recommend to new mums

We tried various baby milks with my son when he was born and cow&gate is the only one that we had success with, it didn’t leave greasy marks on the bottle or seem fatty. My son thrived after changing to this milk. We’ve stuck with it from birth up until now (1year old) and we won’t be changing any time soon.

I used this product while weaning my child from breastfeeding and right up to 12 months old. We tried the mamia version as it was cheaper and though it was ok. The comparison was huge. The 6-12 cow and gate milk was easier on daughters stomach. We never had reflux and they’re full of vitamins vital to the growth of the baby.

Moved on to this from the first milk mainly due to cost!

Find now weaning she only has around 3 bottles a day but loves her milk.

Description

Between 6 and 12 months, your baby will experience a rapid growth spurt. During the first stages of weaning, your baby will only be able to ingest a small amount of food, so milk will remain a primary source of nutrients. Cow & Gate follow-on milk provides the key nutrients required to support your baby's diet from 6 months, including iron and vitamin D.
