We purchased the Pebble Plus as part of a travel system. The safety features and award-winning status appealed to us. We used it in combination with an Isofix base and found it very easy to use (even when swapping the whole thing between cars). The seat simply clips in and out of the base, but still feels very secure when in the car. The newborn insert is ideal for the first few months and the straps are easy to adjust as your baby grows bigger. The covers are washable which mean it’s easy to keep clean.
The seat is a little on the heavy side, but then I also had a big baby! I would carry him in it for short distances but other times clipped the seat on to the (iCandy) pushchair frame. This was quite easy to do, although releasing it from the frame was a bit fiddly and often took several attempts.
Overall, I really like this car seat and would recommend.
So I got this as it had been deemed one of the best ones. While pregnant we tested out a life weight baby doll in lots. This one was definitely the more comfy looking one. And definitely looked the safest!
However upon buying my 11 week old baby just hates it! I can't tell you why but ad soon as I put her in she screams until I take her out. The motion of the car don't even help. What I have noticed is that the minute I put her in she is trying to lift her upper body up and out so I'm.not sure if she just doesn't like the positioning. Of course this is her personal preference and if you ignore this the seat itself is great. It is comfy with a new born insert and so easy to install. The lights and sound indicator to say it is.correctly installed is a life saver for an anxious mum like myself!
I would recommend based on the car seat....my baby is just obviously a diva
I bought the maxi cosi pebble plus because i would be able to use it with most pushchair brands. I have more than one pushchair so i like that i can use it with all my different ones.
Maxi cosi is a well know brand and i felt confident that my child would be safe in this seat. You can buy the isofix base but i just used the seatbelt. The car seat is clearly labelled with how to strap it in safely.
The newborn insert is lovely. My son was 6lbs when we left hospital as he was premature. He was comfortable and well supported. I would like there to be a head support when the insert is removed though as the insert is one piece so its either all or nothing. Its also not very cleary when you should take the insert out. I visited a baby fair and i was advised by maxi cosi to remove it around 4 months. I actually took it out at 6months as he fitted in it nicely until that point.
My son lasted in this seat until 10 months. Then he was too heavy and too long. The seat advertises up to 12months. It is worth knowing that if you want your child to rear face until 15months you may have to spend more on a car seat to bridge the gap between 10months and 15months.
The sunshade is just fabric i like this as its not too heavy but it doesnt fully protect baby in the sun. It also can snag if your not carful.
The harness is easily adjustable as baby grows it is also easy to tighten and fasten.
Over all i liked this car seat. It is available in lots of colours and designs and easy to use. My baby was comfortable he just out grew it before 12 months.
Bad harness extension as pulls out too easy, baby support makes them all squashed

I bought this car seat as i loved the look... well my new son hates it! He hated it from the minute he went in it. He screams continuously and does not stop until he gets out. The newborn insert has never looked very comfortable for him and kind of squashed everything up. We got the 2 way family fix base which is so much easier but doesn't stop that baby hates it. Spent nearly £400 on base and seat for baby to detest every minute he's in it so quite disappointed.
Can be hard to take out of car, would like a rain cover supplied.

We bought this product as it was the one that fitted out buggy of choice. Having seen the reviews and asked people who have used it I was happy with her choice. Easy to carry, baby feels supported at all times. Nice angle so if baby does fall asleep her heads isn’t coming forward.
Very secure and comfortable, 2-way fix base is easy to fit
Weaknesses:
Sometimes the base and the seat do not align. Seat does not recline in the car

We opted for the pebble plus after looking through the many car seats on offer, and decided this ticked all the boxes. The seat is durable and very comfortable for our little girl. The straps are easy to tighten and the removal insert is good at keep them secure during the first few months. Inevitably your child will outgrow this seat quite soon, around the one year mark but it is one of the best we have seen. Some gripes are the fact it doesn't adjust or recline once in the 2wat fix base, the clips to lower the handle sometimes stiff. The adapters for our Mama's and papas ocarro pram are extremely hard to use, and when you have a crying little one at the shops it's mayhem. All in all however we are very pleased, our little one is safe in a comfortable seat.
It is rather heavy and a bit awkward to carry. I had to stop carrying my son in it to the car when he was about 12 weeks as it was just too heavy. I now leave it in the car and just carry the baby to it.
We have been using this car seat since our baby was born. Overall the car seat is good, being able to leave the base in the car and just click the seat in makes going out easier. We have the adaptors to put the car seat on our pram, putting on is easy enough but the small buttons to release it are very tricky to hold down and lift the car seat at the same time.
We have struggled with the insert. Our baby is an average build but was overly snug around the shoulders with the insert in but was too small and didn’t have enough head control with it out. This lead to several weeks of angry car rides as she couldn’t move her arms freely.
The car seat is quite niceLy designed, like the hood option. Even doe i think baby doesn’t look comfortable in it, she falls asleep easily when in it, so perhaps she likes it after all. It is quite heavy, but again thats why it feels secure and safe. I would recommend.

Super easy to use with a newborn and fixes well to the isofix base. Inserts are great for smaller babies/newborn and really easy to clean. My little one was very happy in the car seat but did get some trapped wind in it after long journeys. The elasticated good is great for shading your little one. Adaptors available so you can fix this to some prams too which is a godsend if they are sleeping. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
Newborn was very uncomfortable for the first few weeks with the insert.

I liked this car seat and purchased it because of all the great reviews I read.
However, my newborn looked very squished for the first few weeks and cried every time she was placed in there. I tried removing the insert but she was too small and had no head support without it.
She is now big enough to fit without the insert and absolutely loves it!
The car seat is also easy to fit into the car and quickly too.
It is also pretty heavy.
I am on my second one of these for my youngest as the handle snapped! Before I have used the cabriofix but thought I would try this one as it was the latest one.
This is a very sturdy and comfortable seat she always looks very cosy in it and you can adjust the straps as baby grows in height.
The built in hood is great as you never know when you may need it. There is a removable newborn insert to support them.
The handle- my handle snapped I don’t know how I just went to get it out the car and it snapped I took it back to John Lewis where it came from and they exchanged it there and then. They looked at the inside of the handle and it looked as if there was a thinner part than normal.
This seat is much heavier than the others I presume this is where it’s more sturdy and ‘robust’ (except the handle!) and often I find myself using both hands to carry it!
The look and colours available are lovely and it feels so soft! And to be honest I may buy another one from a safety aspect but not at this price. You have to buy the isofix to go with it which is another 200 pounds (ish) but it does fit on the isofix very easy and removes easily.
I probably would look for a seat which can recline more for a newborn if I was to buy again.
Easy to install and compatible with different travel systems
Weaknesses:
Recline isn't fantastic, very bulky isofix base

I purchased this seat and the two way base after reading good reviews. It was compatible with our I Candy travel system so if baby fell asleep in the car I could use the car seat on the pram wheels definitely a plus point for quick nip outs to the shop. The seat feels sturdy and the base gives the confidence that the seat is securely fitted.
Negative points though - the base for this seat is Very bulky in comparison to other isofixs on the market, my front seat passenger struggles for space due to the size of the base and seat! The recline on this chair is also not great I much prefer our second seat the Joie I Size as this near enough lays flat much better for baby's spine. I also found that as baby got older around the 6 month mark her head would fall forward when asleep in this chair something I hated and would cause me to stop to readjust her! Ended up buying the two way pearl at 9 months to try and rectify the problem (which it didn't).
The two wy pebble and Pearl only fit the two way base which again is highly annoying as your forced to buy the two way pearl unless you buy a different base for the second stage car seat!
We did have an issue with our base which maxi cosi did fix (for a price as it was 7 days out of warranty period!)
If I was buying a baby carrier now I wouldn't purchase this one two restrictive on second stage car seats to fit the base, baby's head falling forward and not being able to lay flat all negative points for me, I would recommend the Joie ISize and less money for in my opinion a better seat
