My Partner has bought this book as a present, it's a very helpful and informative book. You have all the information, about your body, about your baby, and useful tips too. I love this book and I am reading it months after months. I will say it's complementary information to have through your pregnancy. The only negative point will be the size of the book, that I can't take in my hand bag as it is too heavy.

Fab book to read, read it before baby was here and had amazing information for a first time Mum. Would have been lost without this!

I know I've put the same thing for strength and weakness but I truly believe it. It has been great having a reference point for every question I have but it gets to a point where so much information becomes quite daunting. The way it's written is a little preachy and makes me feel bad if I'm not doing everything it suggests. A useful read but should be taken with a pinch of salt.

This book has been my life saver during my pregnancy.
I have been worried about every small thing and having a book to refer to, to check if what i am experiencing is normal or not is great and has saved me a few frantic midwife calls.
I love following my baby's progress weekly, best buy so far.

This book is an absolute lifesaver it’s so concise and full of itself information! There is so much of pregnancy that is an unknown even on my third pregnancy I think hmm is that normal - it’s not the answer to every question but is a good place to start if something is niggling you - I recommend this book to new mums and 2nd/third time mums I wouldn’t be without mine

It is an amazing book, it covers all the issues, answers all the questions you might have. Even things you won't need, you will feel it's better to know about them just in case. It really helped, wonderful especially for first time parents.

Being a first time mum I have read this book to feel prepared. I found it an interesting read however some part did say worst cases of what might happen “if”. This could be such a small % and I’m a worrier so this did not help at times.

It has a very good dads section too which I've not seen before.
More to the point than google which can become very confusing

A good book, goes week by week through pregnancy. You have to may have to read on through future weeks on order to have some symptoms which can be annoying. Good information overall though some is not relevant as it is American. Good sections for dad's to be to read.

This is a great book, which was recommended to me by friends when we talked about trying for a baby!
While you do have to pay for this (compared to many free apps!), I think it's worth it.
The book is jam packed full of information about all the stages of pregnancy, from finding out to post-labour/delivery, and is updated regularly to ensure that it is up to date with the latest NHS advice. I think there is something nice about reading a book as opposed to scrolling through an app (especially as bed-time reading with all the hormonal early nights!!).
The only negative was that the book is so info-dense that it can be overwhelming if you have a specific question/concern. It's also all in black-and-white, so lacks colour photos of baby's development etc.

This has been a great book as I am pregnant with my first child so any information I can gather is welcome! The book is very informative, albeit so detailed that I find quite a lot not relevant to me.
I would certainly recommend to anyone after more knowledge across all areas!

This was the first book I got when I found out I was expecting! It's one of the most famous. It has loads of useful information and week by week analysis of how you and baby will be looking and feeling. There are also sections on preparations and also some most pregnancy advice.

I found it so useful for the beginning of my pregnancy but as i have gone on i have gone back to it less and less, mainly as I found the week by week information through other means such as online websites and apps.

I would still recommend adding it to your shelf and it's good as a reference guide if you need to go back to it. There are also sections for dads to be but I found that my partner wasn't that interested to go through the whole book looking for their sections and so he didn't want to read it.

    What a help.
Information presented well categorised so you can section through your stage in pregnancy or different birthing procedures as you wish.
The information is written in a style and language that is informative and factual at the same time lightly numerous and myth busting.

I loved the advice and tips especially as a new mum needing consoling and to know that everything you, your baby and your body is going through is ‘normal’.

My favourite part of the book is the different birthing procedures.
Definitely helped to write up my birthing plan and to wrap my head around everything unexpected that can happen and what to expect.
Which did come handy in my complex birth story , nothing discussed and dine at birth was something i had never heard if.

Brilliant book, well presented and excellently written. Would recommend to everyone!
    Soo happy I purchased this.

A great book to answer all your thoughts and worries throughout and beyond pregnancy. The book provides great reassurance of how your emotions and body will change throughout pregnancy, as well as providing information about how your baby is developing. Easily structured so that you can read the sections appropriate to where you are in birth.

I absolutely love this book, I was brought this when I found out I was pregnant. I have literally read each section of the book as my pregnancy has progressed. As soon as I found out I was pregnant I wanted to buy this book. It’s the book we hear of when other mums talk about their pregnancies and go to place for info. I read the chapters corresponding to what stage I was at in my pregnancy journey and found the info very useful, I certainly learnt a lot. I enjoyed reading about how my baby was developing week on week and things to look out for. I also liked the tips for labour and what to take to the hospital. It was hard to resist the temptation to read ahead! Great book and certainly worth the money in my opinion.

I am now 35 weeks pregnant and cannot imagine having gone through the last 7 months without this book. Every time I have wondered about anything I have been able to consult the book for information and/or advice. As I have a tendency to google everything and become even more confused/anxious as a result, this book has been an absolute lifesaver as I have had no need to turn to online search engines since buying a copy.

This book is brilliant, and a must have for your book shelf. Pretty much every pregnancy related question you might have is answered. I particularly liked being able to compare my own pregnancy in the pregnancy by week section. However, this is definitely in a reference book format rather than being a quick read. If you are looking for a book to read from cover to cover, this book has alot of information, and doesn't flow as a "reading for enjoyment" book.

This book has the answer to almost every pregnancy question ever. I particularly like the Dads sections as they hit the nail on the head.
Each chapter is a month so it’s easy to dip in and out at each stage.
I’d like to see a little more about the first month - say the fourth trimester, but that is covered in the follow up book - The first Year

I'm a single mom raising a baby far away from my family and I panicked since the beginning. This book brings you step by step, week by week of everything you're concerned that's about to happened. How did it happen, how is going to be, how's going to be at the hospital, with the midwife, symptoms, diseases, what to avoid, what is good for the baby, absolutely everything for a new mom.. If you're panicking because of what you've been reading online and want a reliable souce, that's the book!

Was given this book by friend and would recommend to anyone. Is great to see how baby progresses week by week. I have enjoyed reading a new chapter every week.
There is a lot of information to take on board and I usually spend a couple of days on each chapter. But it is nice to know what is going on with my baby and my body
