Very basic. I tend to get boy use this as a bath toy for my little girl rather than a thermometer. She lives playing with it, bigger than a standard rubber duck, water can't get inside so I'd imagine it would last a very long time. Tgis takes ages to show hot on the bottom, and after testing with a different thermometer, hot displays when water is around 34 degrees, but it's recommended baby baths be 37-38

This is a lovely duck even tho we find the HOT spot very sensitive it basically needs to pretty much cold for it to stay blue my daughter wouldn't like a bath that cold. But she does love playing with it never the less.

I like this duck. It's bigger then most rubber ducks and doesn't trap water inside causing mold. My daughter likes to play with it and can hold it really well. The hot thermometer isn't the greatest.

You float the duck on the bath water then turn it over to see if the water is too hot. If it is the word HOT will show on the bottom of the duck. We have found our daughter likes the bath water to be warm & the duck always said it was too hot. So we have stopped using it for the hot/cold function. It has just become a general bath toy. Which she enjoys playing with.

Hot function isn’t reliable. We’ve managed to get it to work once! My daughter does enjoy playing with it as a toy however.

    • Strengths:

It's robust as a bath toy, easy for the baby to reach out to.

    • Weaknesses:

It displays the word 'hot' on the base.

We were given this as a present for our baby and we hoped to use it as a safety check for bath times however the word 'hot' seems to be displayed at times when the water is barely tepid and certainly not warm enough for a baby. It's fine as a toy but not to be trusted. Very disappointing.

I have used this once for its intended purpose. You put it in the bath and it will indicate if the water is too hot by displaying the word HOT in white on the bottom. However as a first time mum it is not really helpful in getting the required temperature of the water as you only know if the water is too hot, not too cold. Being cautious I also ended up making the bath too cold which baby didn’t like. Is useful as a toy though

We bought this product when our little babygirl Oliwia was born. We expected that we could use it as a water thermometer during a bath time but the product doesnt work at all. The colour changing bottom never changed to red eveb when my fiance put it to the very hot almost boiling water. Now when our daughter is 4 months old we are using it just as a toy. Would not recommend this product.

Got bought this duck when my daughter was born and the word HOT at the bottom has always been very prominent and doesn't change even when in hot water. We just use as a bath toy.
