Hard to adjust the recline on the seat and tighten the straps when rear facing.

Overall a very good car seat, would definitely recommend. The extended rear facing is a big plus for me as the car seat can be used rear facing until 4 years of age. The colour is lovely as well as being dark so does not show any slight marks you may get in day to day use. The only downside is to recline the seat you have to reach under the seat which is very hard when rear facing, also to tighten the straps that is pressed up against the chair making it quite difficult too.

My son has been using the joie tilt car seat for appox 3-4months it is a good car seat for the price you pay you can use it rear facing and whole facing in either front or back of your car.. I had great difficulty getting a car seat to meet the regulations required for my car as it is a small Audi A1 sports car but my son seems happy enough using the seat I’d say the only downfall to this product is the way the seat reclines.. in world facing mode you have 3 reclining positions and I have found when you want to recline the seat back if your child is sleeping you have to reply the seat otherwise it won’t recline back and when you want the baby sitting up again when awake you have to reply the car seat in again so it is tight enough that it doesn’t move and become a danger hazard.

Bought this car seat for my last child and she loves it, very comfortable and simple to install..it’s easily wipe so that it’s clean and tidy, with the different tilt angles it’s great when ever my little one falls asleep he head doesn’t fall forward and leave her with her neck in an awful position, no complaints at all.

I haven't used this forward yet but I have moved my little one back to his car seat for the travel system as with a 2 door car it's so hard to get in and out with the belt in the way. The buckles are tricky too and when he falls asleep his head flops forward ad only 1 recline position and it isn't very reclined. Will try forward facing when he is 9 months atm he weighs 8.7kg and is 8 months. Apart from that he loves it and is comfy in it I just worry about his head and breathing he loves being a le to look about.

This car seat has served us well. We purchased it on the recommendation of a family friend who is paediatric nurse just before his first birthday as he was outgrowing his infant carrier which came with his travel system. It allows you to have child rear- or forward-facing with clear instructions how to ‘tilt’ and switch modes. We had my son rear-facing until his second birthday as we felt he was safer that way, but he is now forward-facing at the age of 4 and it feels very secure in this position too.
It may be lacking in style but it’s a fantastic safe car seat at a budget price so it’s the one for you if you want substance over style!

Over all this car seat is a very comfy seat for my son, he has plenty room. The seat is smart and a lovely neutral colour.
Good value for money, only downfall is it does not sit back far enough. So when my son sleeps he flops forward.
I would definitely recommend this product. Safe and easy to install. My son has been in this car seat since he was 4 months. He is now 9 months.

Quite happy with the product, really good product for the price we paid, even managed to get some discount from website bought. Baby really comfortable in the seat from about 11 months, and hope that taking all the inner parts it will last him a few years, but possibly not up-to age four.
However, we bought this product particularly for the recline settings to have naps on long journeys and there is no real difference between the three very close settings, so the baby is pretty much sat upright when trying to sleep. We've ended up using a headband to provide support for his head to avoid the slumping and wobbling around which wakes him up. For this reason, it's disappointing on that aspect, however when buckled into the seat it feels very form and secure.

Great car seat overall, my daughter sits comfy and is safe, but the downfalls are the fact it doesn’t sit right in my car seats meaning I can’t use it rear facing, and it’s hard to clip in when rear facing too.
  • 4.25/5
    • Strengths:

Very light seat, easy to use and very compact

I really like the joie tilt, it is affordable. It is. Very light and compact seat, easy to fit it in a smaller car.
However, while rear facing I feel it can be quite wobbling and doesn’t feel 100% secure. Also it has a very low shell. Overall it is a nice seat, me and my son both like it

We actually love this product so much we bought 3 of them, one for each of the grandparents cars.the main factor that went into choosing this seat was that it is rear facing until four years old, we wanted something under £100 and rear facing for as long as possible because our son would be rear facing in our car and didn’t want to confuse him when he went in the grand parents cars. The seat is small and not bulky but comfortable my son is nearly 2 and still has lots of space to grow.
The only downside is that it’s quite tricky to adjust the straps for as he grows and can take some time, other than that I couldn’t recommend this seat enough. Also a great factor of the company Hoie is that it is crash tested in Sweden where the minimum speed test is 60mph whereas others are tested in the uk where minimum speed tests are conducted at 30 mph.

Brilliant purchase and pleased with it. The tilt is perfect for us as our little girl loves to face forwards.
If the car seat would tilt slightly upon being faced forwards it would be even better however I do rate this highly.

Bought this for my son (1years at the time) still have it now a year later and love it, it is easy to fit and remove out of the car, easy to adjust the straps, it’s not to heavy and it tilts a little bit while forward facing but not as much as it can while rear faced. Would definitely recommend this car seat.

I'm currently using the Joie Tilt in my mum's car for my 18 month of daughter and I must say I couldn't be happier with the product! As we only travel in the car once a week on average I didn't want to shell out a fortune for a car seat, but I wasn't willing to sacrifice the safety aspects of keeping my daughter rear facing during her infancy.
The Joie Tilt provides the perfect solution for this - an issue many people face as rear facing beyond 13kg can be pricey! The padded inserts made the seat very secure and comfortable for my tiny toddler and were easily removable once she had outgrown them.
The seat installs easily with use of the 3 point seat belt (although I haven't tried it in forward facing mode but I can't see any scenario where I would need to) and is quite secure once fitted, although it does have a bit of wobble. The short shell means the seat would be a good rear facing option for smaller cars, however it also means that the child is more likely to outgrow it by height before they hit the 4 years/18kg weight limit, however my 18 month old still has plenty of head room.
My mum found it complicated when taking apart and putting back together after having to clean the fabrics recently, but, like all car seats, it's fairly simple to figure out. All in all I couldn't rate this seat more highly! A brilliant option if you're on a budget, for a second seat or even as a main seat!
  • 4.38/5
    • Strengths:

Comfortable and sturdy. Stays rear facing until 4 which is much safer.

    • Weaknesses:

Difficult to tranfer between vehicles and hard to adjust strap length and shoulder height.

    • Value for money
    • Easy to use

I have purchased 2 of these car seats, one for each of our family cars. My daughter looks so comfortable in this car seat and no hard surfaces. When strapped into the car the car seat is sturdy and doesn't wobble about. It is reasonably difficult to strap into the car, although the instructions are good and online videos to show you how.
Once you understand how to strap it into the car its a bit easier but fiddly enough I wouldn't want to transfer between both our cars regularly. Although that doesn't matter too much because the price is fantastic so rather than bothering transferring we just bought another when we realised how impressed we were with the other aspects of the car seat.
