I brought some of these right at the beginning when baby was born as he wouldn't latch on to my nipples naturally and the hospital recommended I try it with a nipple guard. It did work, I managed to get him to latch on better with these however they didn't stay in place all that well and I found that a lot of the time they would come of the breast when baby was feeding. I found it hard to use or breastfeed naturally for that matter so in the end I just resorted to expressing milk and bottle feeding him that way instead of using nipple guards,

I bought these as I wanted some that gave baby more skin contact than the round ones I had previously used. The nipple part was wider than he was used to, but as he is getting bigger is finding latching on to it easier. The silicone is thicker than others I have used but they seem to stay in position better. My baby appears to be more efficient at getting the milk out using these than the other ones we have tried.

I absolutely love these, I had really sore nipples and it was agony feeding my daughter when the health visitor said about these, I went straight out and bought them and never looked back. To begin with I used them for every feed but after giving my nipples a rest and chance to recover and heal, I didn't need to use them for every feed. I highly recommend these!

During my first few days of motherhood I tried Brest feeding but was having a painful time. So I used this to help me...in the beagining they where great really helped with pain making the whole feeding process easier it wasn’t until I had my son weighed that I found out he had lost 2 pounds in the time I had been using these. Since that moment on I stoped and used formula. Though these are great for mummy’s they aren’t to great for babies

These shields really helped when breastfeeding was painful and provided a nice relief. I only used them for a while but was very impressed with them and would recommend them to everyone who needs it.

Description

During breastfeeding, nipples can become sore or cracked. Protect them with Avent nipples-protect. These super thin, odourless, soft silicone protectors are designed so cleverly that they allow baby to remain in contact with your skin. This in turn stimulates milk production as they continue to feel and touch you. The natural, invisible Avent design means your baby will happily accept your nipple back once your skin is healed and comfortable again. They must be used under medical supervision.
