I purchased a number of these shortly after my LO was born in order to successfully breastfeed. At first they are perfect. You get 2 for £5.99 which seems reasonable. Once they have been used/washed a few times I found they didn’t stick on as well. My son was able to push it off with little effort making feeding very stressful quite often. I had to research ways to get the shields to attach and thankfully Google had some great answers! Would be perfect if they stuck better, especially as they offer another route to successful breastfeeding!

I used these to help my son latch on. They were great and helped when my nipples were sore from feeding too. They were easy to clean and sterilise and were easy to put in changing bag with their case. They were very thin and comfortable, so thin in fact that i sometimes could not see them right in front of me.
    Overall I recommend this product.

My son had problems latching on to one breast, i bought these shields and it really made a big difference. We didn't need them for very long but they gave us the much needed help required in the early stages of our breastfeeding journey. I did find that they were easily knocked off by a rooting baby, but very easily and quickly put back on.

I used these when first starting breastfeeding as I was so full that it was hard for my baby to latch on. They really helped and he fed brilliantly. I think it got him used to a bottle too for when I expressed.
Milk does tend to gather when baby stops/falls asleep which sometimes caused him to splutter a bit, or for it to dribble down my belly. Also, my baby's a wriggler and would often knock it off after I'd just got it sorted. I also found it a little harder to be discreet when using in public.
Having said that, they helped me to breastfeed when I otherwise wouldn't have been able to, so this for me eliminates all little issues I had (some of which were down to me or my baby anyway, not the product). Definitely recommended for those that need a little bit of extra help with breastfeeding. May also come in useful around growth spurts when baby is feeding A LOT for a bit of protection.

It allowed me to breastfeed as my lo was unable to latch o. My breast when she was little. Nothing you as a mum should blame yourself for. It is them, sometimes they are not skilled (no one taught them to be fair)

I used these as my baby couldn't latch. Although many people love them, I found that my baby kept pulling the shield off and putting milk everywhere. If it wasn't for that I would say they are great.

I purchased these after a midwife recommended them to help my son latch on. I was very doubtful they would work but first time he latched and fed for 34 minutes. For me there are two downsides - the instructions for cleaning are not very clear and they have caused my son to have wind (however, this is probably because he guzzles).

I was given the medela nipple shield at the hospital as baby struggled to latch on. With the shields we achieved a good latch and could establish feeding and milk supply. We used them for 6 weeks and baby weaned off really easily.
I would recommend those shields for anyone struggling with a latch due to flat nipples.

I bought these to help our son latch on - I was determined to breast feed but really struggled after a google search I found these and they enabled our son to feed.
They're a nice 'soft' plastic (floppy; not rigid) so they're comfortable on you. Easy to clean and sterilize. I would use them then immediately was then pop them into a milton/water solution where they stayed until needed next time. I also think they're inexpensive (i bought 2 packs of the medium size). I very rarely used the case usually only if going to a family members house did I use it to transport them (i bottlefed outdoors/in public places for my comfort)
I encountered 2 small issues: 1. Sometimes milk got underneath the shield and made it move/slip about & 2. I found they went a bit discoloured in the milton solution (cloudy) which again didnt effect use just looked odd to me.
I had to stop breastfeeding after 3 months but these shields definitely enabled me to breastfeed successfully for the time i did!

I had trouble with my eldest getting her to latch but as soon as we tried the shields she too to it instantly and we successfully breast fed for over 6 months. The notch for skill to skin makes them different to others in the market as well as coming in three sizes can get the right ones for you. They come in a cute case as well for easy storage and so you can take out and about. It is difficult to be discreet trying to put on as you need some moisture to get them to stay on and if you lose this they start to come off but other than that will help any breastfeeding journey.

I bought these in a desperate attempt to keep breastfeeding through the pain of cracked nipples.
I had been worried about causing latch confusion (since ever breastfeeding consultant i had ever talked to said not to use shields) but in the middle of the night when your nipples are bleeding you'll try anything!
I used them on and off (maybe every second feed) and my daughter didn't seem to notice the difference.
Easy to use and clean and come in a handy wee case.
Provided me with enough relief to allow me to keep feeding while my nipples healed.

This product made it possible to feed my daughter without these I wouldn't of been able to continue to breastfeed as she couldn't latch naturally. They are great as they aren't a standard size they have 3 different size to best match your nipple.

We use these for 10 weeks now. I wasn’t able to breastfeed without them because baby didn’t catch the nipple. However it is difficult to get rid of them as baby got used with them. I am happy that I used them because without them I couldn’t breastfeed.

As a first time mum I was sure I wanted to breastfeed and as soon as my son was born I got straight on with it. However, it was not to be, not so easily anyway. The first few days threw many problems at me and my little boy and it became quite the struggle. After overcoming hurdles including fixing a tongue tie it was suggested trying one of these nipple shields. Initially it helped but clearly wasn't exactly right. I then tried a smaller one still of the same brand and everything just fell into place. My boy latched and fed for forty minutes straight that night. Ten weeks later he's still going strong. They are a bit of a faff to get on particularly in public when you are trying to juggle a wriggling baby, the nipple shield and trying not to flash everybody around you but without them I probably would have had to have given up on my goals to breastfeed my son.

With my first baby, breastfeeding was hard from the start, my nipples were cracked, bleeding and toe curlingly painful! After the second visit from the midwife at home she told me to use nipple shields, so off we went, completely clueless and bought these. From first using them - in the store feeding room - they were amazing, the pain was considerably less than it was, baby latched with no problem and seemed to be feeding well. Phew, it was such a relief. They were easy to use, clean and sterilise. The storage case made it easy to use when out and about. I had so many people telling me that my baby would get nipple confusion using them or it would effect my milk supply but I didn’t care, I used them for about 6 weeks to allow my nipples to heal properly. After that time I stopped using them and my baby was perfectly happy feeding from me without them. When my best friend had her baby and she was struggling with sore and painful nipples, I told her straight away to get these.

Excellent protection for cracked nipple which allowed me to continue breastfeeding. They are a bit tricky to out on and do slip off, but I just used Lanolin to help.
Also, they exist in different size, as nipple come in different size too!

I had real problems with inverted nipples and found no it impossible to feed. I tried these at approx 3 weeks after countless attempts with professionals to get my little one to latch. Was in hospital 6 days after so had plenty of support we just couldn’t get him to manage alone. A friend suggested these as I was ready to give up as we were only managing expressed milk. We continued our breastfeeding journey using these up to 7 month. I am so grateful I had this product.

My mother in law sent this to me as a “just in case” present. To use if I got too sore. Well I did get sore so after my husband had followed the long drawn out sterilisation procedure I tried them. They kept falling off and baby wouldn’t latch on. Then when she did milk didn’t flow. I abandoned them and used lanolin excessively for a couple of days until I wasn’t so sore.

I loved these. I struggled so much with breastfeeding and was in a lot of pain. Midwife recommended these and they were just what I needed. Easy to use and protects nipples from getting dry, sore and cracked.

The only issues - they’re not very easy to put on discreetly so if you’re out in public, prepare to have to get your boob out. Secondly, my son became reliant on these so after some time, when I tried to go back to not using them, he struggled to feed properly. I switched to the bottle soon after but that’s not because of this but because of supply issues.
